I can feel a session in the Machine Shop coming on.

Just been playing with the KM 5D on the ETX105 using an 24-8mm zoom lens
int he eyepiece tube and the short section of the Meade 64T rear cell
adaptor to connect the DSLR.

Knowing how difficult it is to focus the image through the viewfinder of
the DSLR I decide to see if it would be possible to make an eyepiece and
the DSLR Para-focal. Forget using a para-focal ring you'll need a
para-focal tube as the bottom of the eyepiece needs to hover about an
inch above the existing eyepiece tube to be para focal with the DSLR/64T
setup.

So time to make up an adaptor I think....

As soon as I have a working prototype I'll let you know.

Hopefully wont be too long as heading for the shop right now..

Its really handy having the equipment to just knock things up in the
garage all I need to do now is sort out black anodising in the
home....feel a google coming on ;)

The ETX 105 is a lot happier with the KM 5D on the back compared to the
Nikon D200 no problems with the drives at all and haven't even bothered
counterbalancing it yet.

Sorry for the e-mail storm just trying to help out people with problems
and pass on my findings/solutions.

Regards,

Peter
