Date: 22-06-2007
Local Time: 22:29:34 - From Corroios, in Portugal
Alt: 33

Photo Description:

The pursuing of the ISS was made manually. I recorded an AVI of hundreds

Congratulations on an absolutely amazing site which is an awesome
resource for the ETX Community. I have spent several days and nights
browsing through the wealth of information it contains.

I live in a site (51 41 20N 03 52 29W about 150' ASL Glais, Swansea,
Wales, UK) with very restricted views to the South and East but OK for
North and West apart from the Light Pollution from the City. I will
havew to travel into the hills about 20-30 miles away from the Town and
City lights to get decent 360 degree viewing.

I have recently purchased an ETX105EC UHTC AutoStar and Electric Focuser
with complete set of 4000 Series , a 20 mm SWA a 20mm illuminated
Reticle eyepeieces, X2 and X3 Barlows, LPI & Toucam II Pro( with
eyepiece adaptor) Cameras and have coloured, UV/IR and Light Pollution
filters on the way.

Had it about a fortnight and these are my first nights images with the
TouCam II Pro taken before the mist and clouds obscured the view.

Need to work on the exposure to get more detail but could really do with
a finer than fine setting for the focuser...

Can't wait for the autum winter nights hopefully have got the technology
sorted by then with the help of your site.

Best Wishes

I am new to astronomy. I went out and bought me a ETX-90 PE and I love
it. I have joined the local Astronomy club in Birmingham, Al. I bought a
Logitech web cam and modified it a little; I used a project kit from
radio shack and added a cooling fan. This was one of my first photo's I
took and am pretty proud of it. In all I spent about $45 dollars for the
web cam new, and all of the parts to modify the web cam. I would also
like to note that this photo was taken may 8, 2007 under very light
poluted conditions.

Attached is an image of the Sun taken on April 22nd. This was the first
time I tried acquiring images of the Sun using the Coronado PST with the
Philips ToUcam... somewhat successfully. Images were stacked using
Registax 3. As you can see a lot needs to be learned as far as focusing
and processing. For the money it is still a great solar telescope.

Best regards,
