Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2008 14:23:45 From: Ed Ludt (edludt@yahoo.com) Attached are pics of my "ETX Case", the camera/eyepiece adapter and mount, and 2 pics of the moon taken using the unit. Note that the pictures were taken with the Sony DSC-W1 set on B&W, and using the camera's "automatic" exposure & focus. Notes on Pics (top to bottom): Basic Parts: these are the parts I purchased from Sears, but should be available from any hardware/plumbing store Basic Assembly: simplified instructions - cut tailpiece about 2" from flange; I then lined the tube with Velcro (loop side) for snug eyepiece fit Components: identifies the parts; not that the PVC parts were painted with Krylon gloss black for Plastic spray paint Assembled Unit: adapter with 25mm eyepiece inserted; note the eyepiece extends through the tube for insertion in telescope eyepiece holder (obvious?) Mounted in Eyepiece holder: self-explanatory? Mounted on ETX: self-explanatory? Case Closed: shows case lid with compartments for eyepieces, etc. Case Open: shows ETX fits nicely inside the 23"x10"x10.5" interior. I placed foam in the bottom, then laid a piece of soft cloth on that; additional foam sits on top of the ETX before closing the lid Moon_1 & Moon_2 were pics taken with DSC-W1. Auto-exposure & auto-focus after focusing the telescope. I used the self-timer to trigger the "shutter". One added note: the hose clamp used was purchased at Wal-Mart (automotive); this style is particularly convenient since it has a thumb-screw to tighten the band (no more screw-driver-thru-hand!). Hope this is not too much "stuff". Let me know. Regards, Ed
