I have been Reading posts where people are having problems getting a
free low com port hope this helps.

COM Ports....I had similar problems to other users and found the info on
the Starry Night FAQ helpful..

http://www.starrynight.com/support/support_trio/index.php?action=kb&article=201

I created a batch file (Hidden_devices.bat) with the relevant command lines...

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc

and just run that..

follow the instruction to see all those hidden devices...Every time you
plug a USB device into a different port the OS seems to create a new
instance of the device at one point I had eleven different instances of
the Meade LPI when I was trying various active extension leads and USB
ports. I now have all my USB ports on the laptop labelled up as well as
the corresponding plugs on the end of the leads so everything ends up
the same every time :)

Bye For now and hoping for Clear Dark Skies...
