Mike here: Here's a serial connection terminal application for Mac OS X and Windows. If you need to troubleshoot the AutoStar serial connection from your computer, even through a USB-serial adapter (although I haven't yet tested this), you might want to check out CoolTerm from Roger Meier. The Mac Observer posted a short review of the Mac version. Another Mac OS X terminal application is Cornflake.
