Sent: Monday, July 16, 2001 0:07:19 From: rseymour@wolfenet.com (richard seymour) As i understand it (extrapolating wildly from little data), the version numbers in 494 and Starfinders depends more upon the flavor of telescope the controller was delivered with (4504's and 114EQ-DH4's have a special version hard-patched to *only* do German Equatorial Mounts, for example... "Telescope Model" is not offered) There's that one "conversion" chart that addressed stuff which came within the A2.4 Updater's readme, but that's it. A census of users might provide a better mapping. (i think the 4504 controller i have is 1.0f, for "german mount" perhaps?) --dick
Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 20:29:55 From: rseymour@wolfenet.com (richard seymour) The readme file which came with A2.4 says: VERSION FILE DESCRIPTION 1.0a 1.0j Asp7A1.0j.rom Original versions 1.0k Asp7A1.0k.rom Previous version 10El Asp7A10El.rom Latest English version 10Gl Asp7A10Gl.rom Latest German version So, as you can see, it doesn't specifically -cover- the 4504's Starfinder (well, i guess it lumps into "a-j") (but then, the 4504's Starfinder isn't "rated" for rs232 connection, anyway... the mere fact you can -do- it (by building an AUX port) can hardly be held against it... ;-) --dick
