You can slew the scope in 8 directions (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW). The commands to control the slew rete do not function. You can also focus the scope in 2 speeds, with an electric focuser installed. The position of the scope is displayed and update after movement. All you need is a PC running Windows Versions 3.1/95/98/NT/2000/ME and a COMM Port, and of course the required cable. I made mine from the directions on your site. One hint though, do not use regular telephone core with the standard plug, it wont fit in the AutoStar. Instead use a Telephone Handset cord, the one running from the phone to the handset. This cord has the proper connector on it, and it is usually coiled. I received an email message from someone who downloaded the MeadControl program. It did not work. There were some support files I assumed would already be on any user's PC which were not. So, I built an installer. This new version has functional controls to vary the slew rate in three speeds and controls to GoTo a set of coordinates. I have added a Downloads page to my little web-site to download patches/fixes to my two programs. The address is: pages.prodigy.net/david.rosenthal
Click to download the complete version 1.1.0 application (3.1MB).
