Sent: Sunday, December 29, 2002 17:34:30 From: drclay@arksky.org (Clay Sherrod) This is the new home for ASO on Petit Jean Mountain; the scope will be totally automated and controlled from within a separate room. It is on the highest point inside the mountain in fabulously dark skies. The contractor will be starting on the building in two weeks and pouring the pier.....the land for it is being provided by the Rockefeller family who own a huge ranch on the mountain. More about it later! Clay ---------------------------------------- Dr. P. Clay Sherrod drclay@arksky.org Arkansas Sky Observatory MPC/cbat Obs. H43 www.arksky.org

Subject: ASO nearing completion & Dedication Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2003 11:05:01 From: drclay@arksky.org (P. Clay Sherrod) Hello to all.... Just a quick announcement that after many months of adjusting, replacing and completing, ASO Petit Jean Mountain is now nearing total completion and will be celebrating its dedication on the third or fourth Sunday in October 2003; since we are expecting both Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller to be on hand for the dedication, the exact Sunday is not yet established. More later and thanks to all for your support over the past year of relocation.
