Subject: Mars observations with ETX-70AT Sent: Tuesday, September 2, 2003 14:48:35 From: gregsinbox@yahoo.com (Greg Taylor) I have read several comments here that seem to indicate that Mars is not easily viewable with the ETX-70AT. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents. Although my pictures aren't great (or representative of what I can actually see), looking throught the ETX-70AT with a 2x barlow and 6mm or 4mm eyepiece I can just make out a white smudge that I'm assuming is one of the ice caps. No clear surface details are visible, but it is certainly more than just a bright red dot. Not bad for the $300+ I spent on the scope. http://www.binaryforces.com/Mars/index.html - Greg
