Subject: Tighten the altitude lock Sent: Friday, September 28, 2007 06:06:28 From: olivier sauvanet (osauvanet@chooz.com) I have a DS-2130 and I can't tighten the altitude lock. Then altitude motor turn but the tube stay horizontally. I try to demantle the mounting arm but I don't know how to do that. Could you help me Thank you OlivierMike here: I don't have a DS model but it sounds like the axis clamping mechanism may have failed. There is an article ("DS Disassembly") on the Helpful Information: Telescope Tech Tips page but it is for the azimuth axis.

I have unscrewed the altitude lock screw. Then I reached a piece which is necessary to file to pass through another( look at the photo) Now I have repaired my telescope, I can lock the altitude motor. This morning , at the end of the night, among clouds , I have observed the moon, and Venus and it was very nice.... Thank you and sorry for my english
