Some LXD55 users have sent me examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message or ZIP or Stuff multiple files). Send to mweasner@optcorp.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

I got this picture of Jupiter the night of June 13 with my MEADE 8" S.C. LXD 55 telescope , 2X barlow , and LPI Imager. The atmospheric coditions were very bad, but we can see together the shadow of Io and nearby the shadow of Europe on planets surface. |

this is the extract of an avi-file of Saturn and four of his moons on
February 4th, 2005 at about 21:00 CET done with LXD55 SN-10 and ToUCam pro
at prime focus.
About 100 frames - long exposed - for the moons stitched together with about 500 frames exposed to see details of the planet. From left to right we have: TITAN (8.4m) - THETIS (10m.3) - DIONE (10m.4) - SATURN (-0m.3) - RHEA (9m.7). Compared to Saturn the moons appear brighter than you see them in the scope. |
