Since its formation in April 2014, the Oracle Dark Skies Committee has been attending various events around Oracle and Pinal County to talk about its work to have Oracle State Park designated as an "International Dark Sky Park". The Committee also does public outreach on the effects of Light Pollution and how everyone can help reduce the problem and save money as well. Selected past events are mentioned here.

"An Inner Astronomy" Art Show Closing Reception, Triangle L Ranch, Oracle, Sunday, 18 March 2018
From 3 February 2018 through 20 March 2018 "An Inner Astronomy" Art Show was held at Triangle L Ranch in Oracle, Arizona. Artist Catherine Nash showcased her work of paintings and sculptural assemblings. On Sunday, 18 March, a Closing Reception was held. Catherine gave a talk about her work. The Oracle Dark Skies Committee was invited to provide telescopes for night sky viewing. Although the sky had been cloudy most of the day, after sunset the sky cleared and two telescopes were set up for viewing of the crescent Moon, the planets Venus and Mercury, and the Great Nebula in Orion.
This is the "Astronomer's Desk" as interpreted by the artist:
There were many other fascinating artworks on display. This is one of them, "Eclipsis Lunar":
Here is Catherine describing her work to an appreciative audience:
After the talk was over the crescent Moon (with Earthshine) and the planets Venus and Mercury were visible in the western sky:

"An Inner Astronomy" was a fun and educational event with an astronomy theme. Thanks to the artist Catherine Nash for her unique perspective of what astronomy means to her. Thanks also to the staff of Triangle L Ranch for hosting the art show and reception and to hypnopad for providing the live music. And of course, thanks to the Saddlebrooke SkyGazers Club for their telescope support.
