Flawed, dangerous, unfair Satellite TV Regulation

Local lives put at risk and local businesses harmed

Pinal County Board of Supervisors FCC Petition Status?

21 March 2022: I sent the following email to each Pinal County Supervisor and the Pinal County Manager:

I am following up on the need for the County to submit a "Market Area Modification" petition to the FCC that was discussed at the 23 February 2022 meeting of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors and in my follow-up email of 23 February 2022.

Southern Pinal County citizens receive no benefit from seeing stories on Phoenix TV stations about snow in Flagstaff, wrong-way drivers in Phoenix, and shootings in Phoenix neighborhoods. Our citizens ARE harmed by not being able to receive local news, weather, and emergency information for Pima county and southern Pinal county as provided by the Tucson TV stations but not by the Phoenix TV stations.

The current dangerous and unfair FCC TV "Designated Market Area" (DMA) alignment for the southern half of Pinal county must end immediately. This will only happen with the Pinal county "Market Area Modification" petition to the FCC to allow citizens in southern Pinal County to view Tucson TV stations.

As the Pinal county "point person" on this critical issue, I would appreciate an update on the status of the "Market Area Modification" petition to the FCC.

Thank you.

As of 31 March, I have received no update on the status of the "Market Area Modification" petition to the FCC that was discussed at the 23 February 2022 meeting of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.

Local satellite TV customers who are impacted by the dangerous and unfair Federal regulation should continue to write to all of the Pinal County Supervisors and the County Manager to keep the pressure on the County to take action on the petition. Here are the names and email addresses of the Supervisors:

Supervisor Jeffrey McClure: bosdistrict4@pinal.gov
Supervisor Mike Goodman: mike.goodman@pinal.gov
Supervisor Stephen Miller: Stephen.Miller@pinal.gov
Supervisor Jeff Serdy: jeff.serdy@pinal.gov
Supervisor Kevin Cavanaugh: kevin.cavanaugh@pinal.gov
Pinal County Manager Leo Lew: countymanager@pinal.gov
Pinal County Clerk of the Board Natasha Kennedy: Natasha.Kennedy@pinalcountyaz.gov

Pinal County Board of Supervisors moves slowly; is still investigating the issue
