Subject: Searching for suggestions on digital photography and an ETX125 Sent: Monday, March 7, 2005 14:36:11 From: Shanna L. Schultz (slschultz@mchsi.com) I currently own a ETX125 and was given a lunap planetary imager (LPI) by mead for free. But I do not have a laptop to connect my scope to. Therefore I am trying to find a way to connect my digital camera to the scope. I have an HP PhotoSmart 945 with 56X combined optical and digital zoom. All the mounts that I see, seem to be for point and shoot cameras, not digital cameras with very long lenses. Any suggestions as to which mounts may work? I am a newbie and any help that can be passed along would be greatfully appreciated. Thank you, Shanna S. Virginia, MNMike here: Visit Scopetronix.com; they have digital camera adapters for many model cameras. Also, see the Helpful Information: Astrophotography on my ETX Site for more info.
Subject: Attaching an HP Photosmart 315 to an ETX-90EC Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 03:29:06 From: Javier Lopez (jdlopez@yahoo.com) Excellent web site. You helped me make up my mind. I've recently purchased an ETX-90EC. I was wondering I've read someone's comment on using an HP photosmart 315 with their ETX. What do they use to adapt the camera to the ETX? I have access to a machine shop and could have one built, but have been unable to find an adapter for my digicam, either store bought or home-grown. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the excellent web site. Great Work! Best Regards, Javier Lopez Miami-FLMike here: If the camera has a screw-on filter thread on the lens you can use the Scopetronix Digi-T System. If it doesn't have that but does have a photographic tripod hole in the base then you can use the Scopetronix Digital Camera Adapter. You can read about these and more on the Accessory Reviews: Astrophotography page.
