Subject: D7000 Sent: Monday, March 18, 2013 07:24:05 From: Mitchell Gossman (n1149x@gmail.com) I came across your website in a Google search to see what people have accomplished with a Nikon D7000 camera, I'm impressed with your photos! I'm interested because I'm awaiting delivery of a D7100, it's mainly for regular photography but any digital astrophotography would be a very nice bonus. What brand connector to your telescope do you use? Haven't done astrophotography since I owned my last SLR, a film Nikon long since retired. MitchMike here: Mounting is discussed in the article "How I Do Astrophotography" on the Links page on my Cassiopeia Observatory web site. There are some other articles there you might find useful. Also, check out the Helpful Information: Astrophotography page on my ETX Site.
And:
Ah, I missed that, we are much alike, my first telescope was also from Edmund, a 6" Newtonian. I had the misfortune of ordering that right around comet Kohoutek and encountered a 6 month delay, apparently people thought that the way to see that comet was with a telescope, I'm still scarred from that delay! MitchMike here: Edmund got a lot of us started with telescopes!
