GUEST COMETS ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY Last updated: 3 March 2009

Some ETX users have sent me examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

although we've had a very cloudy sky I had the chance to take a pikture of comet Lulin on February 26. The two brightest objects are Saturn in the lower left corner and Regulus in the upper right. You can see the green colour of Lulin, and you can even vaguely discern its tail. I'm very happy with the picture. I used a Nikon D70 with 50 mm lens. Mike here: I did some levels adjustment to bring out the comet better.
