OBSERVATORIES OF THE CARNEGIE INSTITUTION OF WASHINGTON
[Home!]
Last updated: 25 January 2004

The Observatories of the Carnegie Institution of Washington (OCIW) was founded by George Ellery Hale in 1904. It is located in Pasadena, California. I had an opportunity for a tour on Friday, 23 January 2004, hosted by Alan Dressler, one of the staff research astronomers. I have posted a gallery of photographs taken on the tour with some brief comments. The Observatories complex is not really an "observatory" but is a design and research facility for several observatories of the Carnegie Observatories. Visit their web site for more information.

To use the Gallery, first click on a thumbnail of interest (or click on the first to start at the beginning. Then click the "Next" or "Previous" buttons to move forwards or backwards through the slides. Click the "Up" button to go back to the Gallery page.

Go to the Gallery.
