Monsoon Update; Saturn, Spica, Mars, & the Moon

Monsoon clouds returned Wednesday evening, 18 July, as sunset approached. Clouds and some storms continued through Tuesday evening, 24 July 2012. So I did no observing. I took this iPhone panorama image on Sunday, 22 July, as a monsoon storm approached; view is southeast-south-southwest:

We had a brief but heavy rain shower Tuesday afternoon, 24 July. Had 0.25" in less than 15 minutes with a total of 0.3" in 30 minutes. As sunset approached, the sky began clearing up slightly. This is sunset, taken with the Nikon D7000 DSLR and 300mm focal length lens:

Due to the clouds, I did not open the observatory.
