Thursday, 14 January 2016, dawned clear but clouds came in as sunset approached. That evening I attended the monthly meeting of the Oracle Dark Skies Committee. Friday, 15 January, and Saturday, 16 January, were overcast.

Open: Sunday, 17 January 2016, 1800 MST Temperature: 62°F

Session: 908 Conditions: Partly cloudy

1805 MST: viewed the near First Quarter Moon, 83X. Then set up for prime focus imaging of the Moon using the D7200 DSLR. I added an extension to decrease the size of the Moon on the camera focal plane; it just barely fit in the field-of-view. This image was taken at 1/320sec, ISO 400:

I then added the Televue 2X PowerMate for these 1/400sec, ISO 2500, images along the lunar terminator:

1820 MST: resumed lunar observing, 166X. There were some nice views, but seeing was a little unsteady due to thin clouds.

Next, I did some work with the new release of Observer Pro for iOS for my updated review.
