Holiday Party Observing

We had a Holiday Party at the house on Saturday, 30 December 2017. After sunset I opened the observatory for guests to view the waxing gibbous Moon. Besides using the 12" telescope in the observatory, I set up my ETX-125 Observer telescope on the observatory patio.

2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
1.25" Binoviewers 20mm eyepieces
ETX-125 Observer

iPhone 8 Plus
1732 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.
1737 MST: ETX-125 Observer ON.
Viewed the waxing gibbous Moon using the ETX-125 Observer, 73X.
Took this handheld iPhone 8 Plus photo of the Moon through the ETX-125, afocal 73X, iOS app NightCap Camera (ISO 22, 1/150sec):
Viewed the Moon with the 12" telescope and the Binoviewers, 122X.

Several of our guests came out to the observatory and viewed the Moon and the Great Nebula in Orion (M42). Two Javelinas also came to visit.

2101 MST: LX600 OFF.
