1739 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.
Viewed Mercury, very low in the southwestern sky and behind a tree, 102X. Viewed Jupiter and the four Galilean Moons, 102X. Viewed Saturn and its moon Titan, 102X.
1748 MST: Relaxed on the observatory patio bench. Jupiter is at the upper right in this photo.
1805 MST: iPhone 15 Pro Max photo of the Summer Triangle and the International Space Station (ISS). The photo was taken using the iOS Camera app (Night Mode, 10 seconds, 2X lens).
1810 MST: Back inside the observatory.
1812 MST: High Precision ON.
Slewed to first Barnard Object (dark nebula) to be observed this session and waited for the sky to get darker.
1830 MST: Began observing Barnard Objects, 102X. Viewed B369, B175, B174, B173, B172, and B171. As with many Barnard Objects, I could not positively identify all these dark nebulae.
1848 MST: Began some more iPhone 15 Pro Max sky astrophotography. iPhone photo of the Summer Triangle and the Milky Way (Night Mode, 10 seconds, 1.5X lens).
