iPhone Astrophotography Leo Triplet, Sarah's Galaxy

Tuesday, 28 May 2024, began with a clear sky, but clouds arrived late afternoon. Wednesday, 29 May, was clear.

Temperature: 81°F
Session: 1976
Conditions: Clear, breezy

Equipment:
12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
2" 30mm eyepiece

Camera:
iPhone 15 Pro Max

1818 MST: Relaxed on observatory patio bench.

1928 MST: Sunset. Calm now.

1930 MST: Dome OFF.

2000 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

SYNCed the AutoStar on the star Regulus.

2004 MST: Back to the bench to watch the stars come out.

2035 MST: Back in the observatory. Viewed the Leo Triplet of Galaxies (M65, M66, NGC3628 Sarah's Galaxy), 81X.

Attached the LiDAR Cover on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and mounted the iPhone on the 2" 30mm eyepiece using the 3-axis adapter.

2044 MST: StarLock ON.

Took these StarLock autoguided afocal images using the Camera app (Night Mode, 30 seconds, 1X lens).

2100 MST: StarLock OFF.

Viewed the Leo Triplet, 102X.

2104 MST: LX600 OFF.

2110 MST: Took a Sky Quality reading and reported the result to Globe at Night.
