As I was heading out to the observatory I saw this Antelope Squirrel near the house.

Open: Saturday, 15 June 2024, 1830 MST
Temperature: 91°F
Session: 1986
Conditions: Clear, hazy, breezy

Equipment:
12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
Binoviewers

Camera:
D850 DSLR
iPhone 15 Pro Max

1836 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

Observed the waxing gibbous Moon, 102X.

I then prepared the D850 DSLR for imaging and mounted it at prime focus.

The Moon in the bright blue sky, prime focus, 1/320sec, ISO 200.

1847 MST: I relaxed on the observatory patio bench. I did some work on my 12 year old POD Roller Desk. Several years ago I had cut off the longer bolts seen in the last photograph on that report. Tonight I reversed these bolts so they did not stick out. I got most of them done. I will finish them the next time I open the observatory.

1937 MST: Sunset. Calm now. Back in the observatory.

The Moon, prime focus, 1/320sec, ISO 200.

I then did some lunar observing using my William Optics Binoviewers. The views were great at 122X, as seen in these handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max afocal 122X images taken with the Camera app (1X lens).

I added the 1.6X Barlow Lens to the Binoviewer and did some lunar observing, 195X. Awesome views, as seen in these handheld iPhone afocal 195X images taken with the Camera app (1X lens).
