Every few years I have to do a minor repair of my Meade 2" 99% Reflectivity Mirror Diagonal. As seen in these two photos, the eyepiece port comes loose over time.

Fortunately, the repair is easy. A side plate on the diagonal (either side) is removed by unscrewing three hexscrews.

This gives you access to two setscews that hold the eyepiece port tube.

I used a small jeweler's flathead screwdriver to tighten the two setscrews.

Then you replace the cover and screw in the three hexscrews.

Repair done!
