Here are some planetary astrophotographs taken with my LXD55 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

This image is very close to what the eye saw through the telescope.

Venus [27 Sep 05]
This was a 1/250th second exposure, ISO 800, with my Nikon D70 DSLR at prime focus of the 8"SC using the Scopetronix MaxView II with the telenegative lens.

Jupiter [19 Jun 05]
Eyepiece projection taken with a Nikon D70 DSLR mounted to a LXD55-8"SC using a Scopetronix MaxView II DSLR Adapter and a 26mm eyepiece and the MaxView TeleNegative Lens.

This is the result of stacking, cropping, and editing 14 individual shots using Lynkeos 1.3 for Mac OS X.

Even though I used a Hartmann Mask to aid in focusing, the focus is still not as crisp as I expected. More work to do.
