On 19 August 2018, while visiting the Bay Area in Northern California, I took this D850 DSLR + 600mm lens photo of the Lick Observatory complex. It was visible 15 miles away from the 26th floor of our hotel in San Jose in the late afternoon (after the fog lifted).

On 23 August, we drove up Mount Hamilton to visit Lick Observatory.

We were able to see the 36" refractor telescope.

We then headed to the 3-meter telescope observatory, passing the APF dome along the way.

It was great to visit the historically significant Lick Observatory.
