On 16 August 2017, as part of the Sky & Telescope Tour Group for the Total Solar Eclipse, we visited the Von Braun Astronomical Society and their Swanson Observatory. We arrived after sunset:

A presentation on the history of the Von Braun Astronomical Society was shown in their planetarium:

We then went to the telescopes for some viewing:

Definitely a cool place to visit with a lot of history behind it. If you visit Huntsville, Alabama, check out Von Braun Astronomical Society.
