Equipment:
12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
2" 14mm 100° eyepiece

Camera:
D850 DSLR

Prepared D850 DSLR for imaging the Moon.

1924 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

Viewed Venus, 102X.

1928 MST: Sunset.

Viewed the waxing gibbous Moon, 102X.

Mounted the D850 DSLR on the 12" telescope at prime focus + focal reducer. Took this (cropped) image of the Moon (1/200sec, ISO 100, White Balance Auto). Colors have been highly saturated to show different minerals on the Moon.

1935 MST: Relaxed on the observatory patio bench while waiting for the sky to become darker.

2008 MST: Prepared to image the Moon projected onto the observatory dome by the 12" telescope at 102X. I placed the D850 DSLR with a 8mm fisheye lens on the POD Roller Desk. This is the result (f/8, 5 seconds, ISO 6400, White Balance Auto, slightly cropped). The planet Venus is just left of the dome with many stars visible over the dome.

I then did some lunar observing, 174X. Impressive views through the 100° eyepiece. And then I took a last look at the Moon, 102X.

2033 MST: LX600 OFF.
