Barnard Objects Dark Nebulae

Clouds returned on Tuesday, 19 November 2024. The sky was clear on Wednesday, 20 November.

12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
2" 50mm eyepiece
Focal reducer
Camera:
D850 DSLR
Prepared D850 DSLR for imaging.
1816 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.
Viewed Venus, 102X.
Viewed Saturn, 102X.
Mounted the D850 DSLR camera at prime focus + focal reducer, focused on the star Altair, and locked the telescope mirror.
1828 MST: High Precision ON.
Slewed to the first imaging target.
1832 MST: StarLock ON.
Imaged the following Barnard Objects (dark nebulae), StarLock autoguided, 30 seconds, ISO 6400.
I was glad that Barnard Object B356 turned out so well as I had been a member of the 356th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Myrtle Beach AFC, SC, 1974-77, when I was an Air Force A-7D pilot.
1909 MST: StarLock OFF.
I then observed, or attempted to, the following Barnard Objects (dark nebulae), 102X: B193, B359, B358, B360, B151, B190, B361, B152, B153, B154, B362, B363, B155, B191, B192, and B194.
This is the current status of my Barnard Objects Project.
1956 MST: High Precision OFF.
Viewed M45 (Pleiades), 102X and 49X.
Viewed Jupiter, 102X.
2008 MST: LX600 OFF.
2016 MST: Took a Sky Quality reading.
