GUEST PLANETARY ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
[Home!]
Last updated: 8 March 2006

Some ETX users have sent me examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site. You will also find astrophotography examples on the Helpful Information - Astrophotography page.

I wanted to send you my first serious attempt at imaging Saturn. I tried a year ago when I first got the scope, with little sucess. The addition of the ToUcam webcam has made a big difference. Anyways, here is my Saturn in poor seeing conditions. Not bad overall for a 5" scope.

Mars already has a diameter of only 6.8", but still the ETX can easily catch albedo features. Note the North polar cap at the bottom of the picture.

Had 3 clear nights in a row ! Got in some good observing/imaging. Please could you put up on your Planets Gallery :-)
Couldn't believe I got some detail on Mars at MAG 0.76 ! ... quite please with the Jupiter images as it is very low in the UK this year. However had some steady seeing conditions last night.
Saturn not so impressed with, getting dimmer and resigned myself to not getting better than on the 12th Jan.
