GUEST PLANETARY ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
[Home!]
Last updated: 15 May 2006

Some ETX users have sent me examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site. You will also find astrophotography examples on the Helpful Information - Astrophotography page.

Excellent seeing on the 11th / 12th which allowed me to do this sequence of the GRSpot transiting across Jupiter. Best Night in the UK this year. Also attached best image of the Night. Hope all is well, hoping to work on some DSO work soon with the Planets now no longer getting brighter.

im Dr.Suresh from Madras.Let me make a long story short. I dreamt to buy a etx 125 and ended with a lx 200 inch f 6.3. Since there are very few scopes in India this owner heard about me and brought the scope which had some problems, right now he is holidaying in florida. Ifixed the scope and took this pic with my philips toucam and taken with Meade ETX 125 5 inch and 2x barlow processed in Images plus. Hope u like it.u may put it up at your website if u think the pic is alright. I think it is not too bad-)

The Jupiter photos were taken 5/6/06 right around 11:00pm my time. All are 60sec. avi's at 1/20 of a sec. The seeing was not that good. I took the best 170 frames out of 1800 frames to make the final photos. All were processed in registax and cleaned up in photoshop. All photos were taken from my home in Washington PA.

May 3rd, 2006 I was in the garden around midnight local time to watch Jupiter. We have to get used to seeing him lower and lower each year. It was only about 10 degrees above my neighboring houses - not so good for stable seeing conditions (I know at OO you don't care about that...) So let me 'contribute' to the many nice postings already seen on your site (great shots James...)
Jupiter with GRF & IO & Europe & Ganymed, 2006-05-03, 00:05 CEST, MEADE ETX-125EC with 2x barlow, PHILIPS ToUCam pro, 200 frames exposed for the planet and 50 frames exposed for the moons (Kallisto too far off), south up / east left

This is a recent Jupiter captured as thin clouds passed through the camera's field. Seeing was quite good, but i had to stop captures because of the clouds.
