Some ETX users have sent me examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

The attached images are from September 5th and the 6th. The 5th shows the last of the Venus Jupiter conjunctions before the crescent Moon really entered the picture. From my backyard near Keene, Ontario, the view was lovely. On the 6th I was in London, Ontario, and was lucky enough to get a view of the crescent moon entering the picture and forming a nice triangle with Venus and Jupiter. With all the build-up to the conjunction of the 6th, I hope there is some coverage of what some people may have missed, if they had cloudy skies. All images were shot with a Nikon Coolpix 995, ASA 100 at about 4 to 8 sec. exp. |

This evening's (05 Sep 01) beautiful conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. At 1.1 degrees separation, the pairing was worth the wait. The clouds tried to frustrate things near Keene, Ontario (south of Peterborough), but the orange horizon made up for it. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995 (100 ASA , ~ f/4.5 from 1/4 to 8 sec.) |
