Many ETX users have sent examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

ETX 125 with a toucam pro at prime focus, f/15. 576 frames, five
alignment points in photoshop, very little sharpening. Left the color

Please find attached images taken of the 5.5 day old moon. The images were taken using a polar aligned Meade ETX-105PE, Sony DSC W5 digital stills camera and a Scopetronix DigiT adaptor. I am very very pleased with the results and, hopefully, they are good enough to be included on your website. |

Even though I've "graduated" to an LX90, I still get out the ETX-70 once in awhile. Tonight, the Moon was but a sliver. I hope you enjoy this and that it's good enough for the gallery. |

read your last OO report: what an impressive night; not only the sky
experiences, but nature too - great!
Here in citylike surrounding I caught the cloesup of Moon and Plejades on February 23rd, 2007. Late in the night / early the next morning the Moon would have occulted some stars but as seeing conditions got more and more foggy I decided close at 22:30 CET. Setup on a tripod the Plejades already smeared at 1s exposure time combined with an image of 1/160s for the moon. |

Here is one for any gallery you choose to put it in, I took this last night in Thetford, Norfolk, UK. It is a combination of two shots, one overexposed to bring out Saturn and one underexposed to bring out moon details, combined, brightness/contrast adjusted, sharpened and despeckled in Photoshop. It was taken with a Kodak D6490 on a tripod. It is my first attempt at something like this and I found it rather pleasing. |

I took a series of images with my ETX-90/RA and 9mm eyepiece on 2006 December 30 at 0950UT and used a program called "Autostitch" to automatically make this mosaic of the Moon. |
|
Here is a mosaic of the Southern highlands taken with my ETX-90/RA, on 2006 December 29 at 0730UT. The sun was still in the early evening summer sky here, hence the blue background sky. |
|
This was my first attempt at doing a mosaic from images. They were taken on 2006 December 6 at 1135UT with the ETX-90 and 9mm eyepiece. |
