GUEST LUNAR ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
[Home!]
Last updated: 8 October 2007

Many ETX users have sent examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

Great Website!
This was my first real astrophotography using the ETX125. Canon RebelXT + T-Adapter. (ISO-200 / Shutter- 1/400) Stacked images manually in Photoshop CS3.
Mike here: I adjusted the "levels" slightly in GraphicConverter to lighten the image slightly.

I have enhanced the image of the Moon taken on 26 August 2007 to supersaturate the colors of the lunar surface. Here is what the ETX-90 can show of the true hidden colors up there. ETX-90/RA and Fuji A800 camera.

Grimaldi was well placed on the terminator on 26 August and I was able to capture the walls in an image taken with my ETX-90/RA and Fuji A800 digital camera using my 12.5mm eyepiece (100X). Hope you will consider it for your website. Also there is an image of the whole Moon that night.

Here are some images of the Moon taken over the past few nights, with my ETX-90 and Fuji A800 camera. The small images are from stacked avi's processed with registax. Hope you can consider them for your website.

Here are a few photos of our Moon, taken from our home in Washington PA . All are 20 sec avi's at 1/100 of a sec 30 fps, taken with my 125 etx and a sac 7 ccd with a 140 apo 2x tele. I took theses photos at 8:30 am in the morning. Proccesed in registax and cleaned up in photoshop and noiseware.

Herewith my first ever effort at astrophotography, a pure experiment, I simply grabbed my wife's little Canon Digital Camera and pointed it down the 26mm eyepiece and went "click" Etx 90 EC, from Auckland New Zealand, 22.30 on 3/7/07 The result was most satisfying for a first effort, who says you need sophisticated gear to have fun!
