Many ETX users have sent examples of their astrophotography. If you have some examples you would like included here please send me a description of how you made the astrophotos and a copy of the images as GIF or JPEG files (due to internet email gateway issues, please send only one image file per message). Send to etx@me.com. Alternatively, if you have created your own web page with your examples please let me know and I'll include a link to your site.

I would like to send you some ETX images though, so here attached is an Autostitch mosaic shot of the Gibbous Moon from last week with my ETX-90/RA and Meade LPI CCD (attached). Also attached is an image of the Full Moon from last week. I hope you will consider them for you website as they were all with the ETX-90/RA.
I also made a dew-shield for it out of a clear plastic soft drink bottle. It works great and I was able to observe for hours with no dew on the lens, even though the rest of the telescope was dripping wet. I will try to send some pictures of it sometime. It took me about 10 mins to make while the telescope was cooling down that night of the gibbous Moon as I could tell there was going to be dew about. |

I took a series of pictures of the moon in its first quarter on 05/11/2008. I used my ETX-90PE and the Bresser PC-Ocular. I used Paintshop Pro to name some of the visible objects. I don't know if you want to post the pictures but here they are anyway. |

I would like to share with you my last "Moon Mosaic" images taken with my ETX90.
Tittle: "Full Color Moon poster" from Portugal The image is a Moon Mosaic composed by 16 images of 640x480pxl taken with an ETX90ec + WebCam Toucam Pro and a focal reducer of 0.5x on friday 21-03-08 between 22h39 and 23h00, from Sobreda, Portugal. The "Photomerge" or the mosaic composition was made in Photoshop CS3 and the treatment of the image was made in the Photoshop Lightroom. In this poster i try to show the differences between the apparently "Black and White" image and the increased saturation image, where we can see the colors of the Moon. To obtain this result i processed the real image that i get with my ETX90ec in Photoshop CS3, using many tools like the "Hue and Saturation" for exemple. The result can show us many different geological formations composed of different minerals. "Full Color Moon poster" link: http://www.astrosurf.com/astroarte/PosterFullMoons-net.jpg In the images below i try to show the differences between the "grayscale" image and the inverted (or negative) image. This kind of procession can show us many details that be disregarded at the first sight. the plains ( seas) are clearly visible. To obtain this result i processed the real image that i get with my ETX90ec in Photoshop CS3, using an inverted option and a high pass filter. The links images: http://www.astrosurf.com/astroarte/MoonMos210308-Inv-net.jpg and the comparation poster: http://www.astrosurf.com/astroarte/Poster%20Lua%20Inverted-net.jpg Thanks, i hope that you enjoy them |

just to let people know what can be obtained with the often not enough appreciated ETX-80, I send you for your Guest Lunar Astrophotography section this shot of Teophilus, Cirillus and Katharina taken with the ETX-80-AT-TC, internal barlow + extension with Meade LPI at an equivalent focal length of about 2000 mm, 50 frames sum with Meade Envisage and 150% resampling + wavelet enhancement with Registax. I hope it will boost the reputation of the dear little refractor. |
